I graduated from Emory University with a bachelor's degree in history in 2009. I continued my education at the University of Georgia, where I obtained my master's degree in social studies education in 2012. For the past eight years, I've tutored students in numerous subjects, and while I was working on my master's degree, I spent time teaching history to high school students and tutoring elementary and high school students in the Athens, Georgia area. I'm certified to teach geography, political science, economics, and history in the state of Georgia, and I've completed gifted education and ESOL teaching courses.I believe that all students should understand the process of learning, and shouldn't rely on their ability to simply memorize the material that they are studying. This way, they gain the ability and confidence needed to succeed academically, as well as in real-life situations, on their own. I strive to create a positive, enriching learning environment for my students so that they have an easier time comprehending and retaining the information they are studying.I tutor students in European history, American history, government, world history, social studies, science, astronomy, economics, microeconomics, and business. I also work with students taking advanced placement classes, and offer test prep services to students who are preparing to take the SSAT, ACT, and SAT.
