I have a passion for education, which has led me to my current course of study. I am a Ph.D. candidate at Emory University, where I am studying Sociology with a focus on Education. My goal is to be a college instructor, which is indicative of my love for teaching and is also the reason I began tutoring. I first tutored while working on my undergraduate degree at Ohio State University and continued to do so while earning my master's degree from the London School of Economics. I have experience with helping students with standardized test preparation as well as test score improvement. During my extensive time as a student, I learned that being an intelligent professor is not synonymous with being an excellent teacher. It is important to find ways to teach the information so that it helps students not only understand it, but also learn to think and reason on their own. I believe that I possess this skill and that I can truly make a difference. Teaching this way provides students with a framework which can help them more easily comprehend more difficult material as they continue their studies. I also strive to make the topics I tutor as interesting as possible.
