I am a teaching professional with well over a decade of English and ESL teaching experience - a UK national, I have taught in Taiwan, R.O.C, the UK and here in the USA. I have taken the liberty of copying a personal message from a former student of mine who recently graduated Georgia Southern with a 4.0: ".......you were always my favorite teacher. I would have been in a lot of trouble in college if you had not taught us all how to write papers" I like to hope that I positively impact all my students, and establish a working relationship that allows students to consider me a mentor and a friend. I encourage students to ask questions as this helps us get to the heart of what we are learning, and helps develop a spirit of collaboration that allows the student to take ownership of, and develop an interest in, their own learning (as opposed to a teacher-centered "here is the answer; remember it"). Hobbies
I live in the Decatur area with my wife and 2-year old daughter, and have been in the States since 2004. Spending quality time with my family, and catching up with my friends and family back home, takes up most of my free time, but I love soccer and my daughter and I can often be found listening to the game from England at 7am on a Saturday. I am a nationally licensed USSF soccer coach and have worked as a volunteer coach in my local community. I read as often as possible and am currently working through a collection of Camus' short stories - I just finished 'The Long Goodnight' by Raymond Chandler.
